چکیده

Context. In the present-day panorama of large spectroscopic surveys, amount, diversity, and complexity available data continuously increase. The overarching goal studying formation evolution our Galaxy is hampered by heterogeneity instruments, selection functions, analysis methods, measured quantities. Aims. We present a comprehensive catalogue, Survey Surveys (SoS), built homogeneously merging radial velocity (RV) determinations largest ground-based surveys to date, such as APOGEE, GALAH, Gaia -ESO, RAVE, LAMOST, using reference. This pilot study serves prove concept test methodology that we plan apply in future stellar parameters abundance ratios well. Methods. have devised multi-staged procedure includes: (i) cross match between official cross-match algorithm, (ii) normalisation uncertainties repeated measurements or three-cornered hat method, (iii) calibration RVs function main on which depend (magnitude, effective temperature, surface gravity, metallicity, signal-to-noise ratio) remove trends zero point offsets, (iv) comparison with external high-resolution samples, RV standards Geneva-Copenhagen survey, validate homogenisation calibrate zero-point SoS catalogue. Results. provide homogenised catalogue containing almost 11 million stars, about half come exclusively from combination surveys. estimate accuracy be 0.16−0.31 km s −1 precision range 0.05−1.50 depending type star its survey provenance. open clusters high resolution homogeneous samples systemic 55 individual clusters. Additionally, median for 532 recently discovered data. Conclusions. publicly ready applied various research projects, clusters, Galactic archaeology, streams, characterisation planet-hosting name few. also include updates more sources versions SoS.

Learning from Earthquakes: a Survey of Surveys

This paper presents a literature review of efforts to learn from earthquakes: collecting, archiving, and disseminating information. The emphasis is on primary sources, i.e., data-gathering instruments or investigations that include direct observation of earthquake effects. The study addresses seismology and geotechnical engineering; safety and damage to individual buildings; performance of larg...

Survey Sidekick: Structuring Scientifically Sound Surveys

Online surveys are becoming more popular as a means of information gathering in both academia and industry because of their relatively low cost and delivery. However, there are increasing debates on data quality in online surveys. We present a novel survey prototyping tool that integrates embedded learning resources to facilitate the survey prototyping process and encourage creating scientifica...

EVALUATION SURVEYS: The JEIDA Methodology and Survey

There are two types of criteria for users: economic criteria and technical criteria. The set of economic criteria for users was designed to determine which type of machine translation system should be introduced in order to obtain maximum economic efficiency. The technical set of criteria for users was designed to help those who have decided to introduce a machine translation system to determin...

Capital Budgeting Process of Healthcare Firms: a Survey of Surveys

How healthcare firms make capital budgeting decisions is an intriguing question principally because about 85% of these firms are not-for-profit operations. Several surveys have been performed over the last forty plus years to learn about capital budgeting practices of these firms. In this paper, we analyze and synthesize these surveys in a four-stage framework of the capital budgeting process—i...
